Ne vous a pas donné. Par cette parole sévère, qui rappelle toute leur ancienne incrédulité, Moïse veut les pousser à demander à Dieu ce cœur nouveau qui sent la bonté de Dieu, ces yeux spirituels qui contemplent ses bienfaits, ces oreilles spirituelles qui comprennent ses paroles. Un instant Israël avait eu comme une vision de la vérité (5.26-29), mais le voile avait bientôt recouvert ses yeux.
