Cette heureuse influence, elle l'exerce en enseignant que l'obéissance au souverain qui a reçu votre serment de fidélité (Ezéchiel 17.13), est un devoir religieux. Et tel est l'enseignement que l'Ecclésiaste va développer ici de la part de la Sagesse.

Observe les ordres du roi, en dépit des oppressions qui s'exercent (3.16 ; 4.1) et auxquelles le roi n'est peut-être pas étranger.
