Le moindre de tous les saints annonçant la richesse incompréhensible de Christ ! voilà le contraste qui humilie l'apôtre, la grâce qui le remplit d'admiration. (Comparer 1Corinthiens 15.9 ; 1Timothée 1.12-15)

Plus Dieu élève un homme, plus celui-ci doit s'abaisser lui-même. Le mal qu'il trouve en lui est toujours plus grand que celui qu'il voit chez les autres ; c'est pourquoi il peut avec vérité se placer au-dessous d'eux. (Philippiens 2.3)

Dieu pousse à l’humilité ceux qu’Il a promus à d'honorables tâches ; et là où Il accorde Sa Grâce, dans ce cadre, Il offre celle-ci sans limitation.

Avec quelle force, Paul parle-t-il de l’insondable richesse de Jésus-Christ ! Cependant, beaucoup de personnes n’en bénéficient pas, malgré la grande faveur qui leur est accordée, par la libre prédication de l’Évangile !

C’est par notre faute si nous ne sommes pas régénérés spirituellement par les richesses de notre Seigneur. Toute création a été opérée par Dieu, en Jésus-Christ : celle de l’origine du monde, lorsque qu’Il a généré toutes choses à partir du néant, comme celle par laquelle les pécheurs deviennent de « nouvelles créatures », par la Grâce qui opère en eux.

Ces richesses divines sont insondables et demeurent éternellement. Alors que les anges vénèrent la Sagesse de Dieu, quant à la rédemption de l’Église, les impies, dans leur ignorance, continuent à considérer tout cela comme des fables...
