World English Bible The king said, "What honor and dignity has been bestowed on Mordecai for this?" Then the king's servants who attended him said, "Nothing has been done for him."

Les gens du roi : voir 2.2.

On n'a rien fait pour lui. Et pourtant en Perse on récompensait magnifiquement les personnes qui avaient bien mérité du roi ; leurs noms étaient inscrits dans un rôle spécial (Hérodote VIII, 85 ; Ill, 140 ; Thucyde I, 138). Toutefois la récompense se faisait parfois attendre (Hérodote V, 11).
