S'il y a pour lui un ange médiateur, littéralement : un messager interprète, qui vienne lui parler de la part de Dieu. Le mot de mélits employé ici suppose deux personnes qui ne se comprennent pas et qui ont besoin d'un truchement (Genèse 42.23 ; 2Chroniques 32.31). Il y a malentendu entre Job et Dieu. Cet interprète, c'est un ange de salut, opposé aux anges exterminateurs du verset 22.

Un entre mille : un des milliers qui peuplent le ciel (Deutéronome 33.2), mais non pas le premier venu : un choisi d'entre eux.
