Et moi aussi j'ai dit. Les Cananéens étaient mûrs pour l'extermination ; Israël ne les a pas détruits ; ils vivront donc, et Israël en pâtira. Leurs faux cultes célébrés au milieu des tribus seront un piège auquel il leur sera bien difficile de ne pas se laisser prendre.

A vos côtés, comme des aiguillons à vos flancs et comme des verges ; comparez Nombres 33.55 et Josué 23.13.
