Même pensée que 19.25. Infliger une correction, en paroles ou en actes, à l'homme qui n'a pour la religion et la vertu que du dédain et des sarcasmes, c'est peine perdue. Mais cette même correction aura un effet indirect sur le simple, qui ne s'est pas encore déterminé dans le sens du bien. Il en recevra une impression salutaire. Pour le sage, au contraire, le moindre avertissement produit son effet et lui fait faire un pas de plus dans l'appropriation de la sagesse.
