Oui, littéralement : car certainement. Il faut se garder de traduire : Car s'il y a un avenir, ton espérance, etc. Un doute pareil n'est point dans l'esprit des Proverbes.

Un avenir : une suite, couronnement d'une vie inspirée par la crainte de Dieu (24.14 ; Jérémie 29.11). Si cette espérance était trompeuse, on pourrait envier la prospérité des méchants.
