L'Eternel soutient..., abaisse. Cette parole est le terme auquel aboutit ce qui vient d'être dit. Le Dieu qui connaît toutes les créatures de l'univers entier a su distinguer les humbles, dans leur affliction (hébreu : anavim, ceux qui souffrent avec humilité et soumission), et les méchants, dans leur orgueil, pour soutenir les uns et abaisser les autres : allusion à la chute de Babylone qui a eu pour résultat la délivrance d'Israël.
