Il t'a demandé la vie. Allusion au relèvement du roi. Les termes employés ici : vie longue, permanente, rappellent les formules de salutation employées en Orient envers les monarques (1Rois 1.31) ; mais ce qui, ailleurs, n'était qu'un hommage fortement hyperbolique est pour David et sa race une promesse positive. Comparez 2Samuel 7.16.
