Confiance en Dieu. (Psaumes 46:1-5)
Une exhortation. Le contempler. (Psaumes 46:6-11)

Ce psaume nous exhorte à espérer et à avoir confiance en Dieu ; à avoir confiance en Sa puissance, en Sa providence et en Sa présence au sein de Son église, et ceci au temps de l'épreuve. Nous pouvons appliquer cela au sujet de nos ennemis spirituels et l'encouragement qui en découle, au travers de Christ, nous rend vainqueurs. Il est notre Aide, toujours présente, sur laquelle nous pouvons compter ; une aide à portée de main, toujours près de nous. Nous ne pouvons trouver un meilleur ami, ni même d'ailleurs, son équivalent. Laissons ceux qui sont tourmentés dans les tourbillons des vives eaux et qui bâtissent leur confiance sur des fondations mouvantes ; mais ne laissons pas ceux qui sont effrayés et qui se tournent vers le Rocher, pour assurer fermement leurs pas. Dans une telle situation, il y a de la joie dans l'église, même au temps difficile. La rivière fait penser aux grâces et aux consolations du Saint-Esprit, qui irriguent chaque partie de l'église, chaque ordonnance divine, remplissant de joie le cœur de tous les croyants. Il nous est promis que l'église ne sera pas détruite.

Si Dieu est dans notre cœur, par Sa Parole demeurant en nous avec abondance, nous serons renouvelés, nous bénéficierons de Son aide ; ayons donc confiance et ne soyons pas effrayés.
