Car on a dévoré Jacob Et désolé sa demeure.

Car ils ont dévoré Jacob. C'est ici le crime qui doit attirer sur eux la colère de Dieu : non contents de ne pas connaître Dieu, ils ont cherché à extirper le seul peuple qui le connût. Les versets 6 et 7 sont une citation de Jérémie 10.25.
