Grec : Je ne m'enhardirai pas à dire quoi que ce soit de choses que Christ n'ait pas faites par moi pour l'obéissance des gentils.

Suivant les uns, Paul proteste qu'il ne se vante pas, et qu'il ne parle pas pour se glorifier de choses que Christ n'aurait pas réellement accomplies par lui.

D'après une autre explication, plus naturelle, il voudrait dire : Je ne saurais mentionner aucune chose que Christ n'ait pas faite par moi, il a vraiment tout fait ce qui pouvait se faire. Je serais téméraire en signalant une lacune dans mon apostolat ; en parole et en œuvre, il m'a accordé tous les signes de l'apôtre. (comparez 2Corinthiens 12.12)
