Sa Parole a précisément pour objet la vie éternelle qu'il avait promise ; ( 1.2) car sa Parole est l'Evangile de sa grâce, et Dieu a manifesté cette Parole en ses propres temps, (1Timothée 2.6) à l'époque marquée par sa sagesse, après avoir promis cette manifestation dès les temps anciens.

Paul voit ainsi dans cet accomplissement même une preuve que Dieu ne ment pas dans ses promesses. (Comparer Hébreux 6.18)

Confiée selon son commandement exprès. (Comparer Galates 1.1, note ; 1Timothée 1.1)
