Il allait traverser une période de calme et de paix. Quand Dieu accorde une telle faveur, Il s'attend en retour à ce que nous accomplissions notre devoir. Dieu avait promis d'établir le royaume d'Israël. Les promesses divines, pleines de grâce, devraient motiver et renforcer l'exécution de notre service pour le Seigneur.David donna à Salomon, tout le détail des vastes préparatifs à effectuer pour ce bâtiment ; il ne le fit pas par fierté ni par vaine gloire, mais pour encourager Salomon à s'engager de tout cœur dans cette tâche gigantesque.
