1 Chroniques 22.6

David donne à Salomon la raison pour laquelle il devrait construire le temple : Dieu l'avait désigné en tant que tel.

Rien n'est plus motivant pour notre consécration envers Dieu, que de savoir que nous sommes désignés pour accomplir un service particulier.

Salomon disposait du temps nécessaire et de toute l'opportunité pour construire le temple. Il allait traverser une période de calme et de paix. Quand Dieu accorde une telle faveur, Il s'attend en retour à ce que nous accomplissions notre devoir. Dieu avait promis d'établir le royaume d'Israël. Les promesses divines, pleines de grâce, devraient motiver et renforcer l'exécution de notre service pour le Seigneur.

David donna à Salomon, tout le détail des vastes préparatifs à effectuer pour ce bâtiment ; il ne le fit pas par fierté ni par vaine gloire, mais pour encourager Salomon à s'engager de tout cœur dans cette tâche gigantesque. Ce dernier ne devait pas penser, qu'en construisant le temple, il lui serait permis de s'adonner au péché ; il devait au contraire, veiller à accomplir cette tâche, tout en étant soumis aux préceptes de l'Éternel.

Dans notre travail spirituel, aussi bien que dans notre guerre contre l'adversaire, nous avons besoin de garder courage et bonnes résolutions !
