L'administrateur ne peut rien donner qui lui soit propre ; les dons, la sphère d'activité d'un serviteur de Christ ne sont pas de lui, mais du Maître.

La seule chose qui soit requise de lui, c'est la fidélité, et le Seigneur seul en est juge. Pour autant que les hommes sont appelés à juger, ils doivent le faire d'après cette règle, et non selon certains dons brillants du talent et de la science. Etre trouvé fidèle, reporte toute la pensée sur le grand jour du jugement, qui seul manifestera cette fidélité ou elle existe véritablement. (verset 5)
