Et tu lui parleras... et tu lui parleras. Ces mots, deux fois prononcés, accentuent fortement le sérieux de la sentence divine.

Tu as tué ; laisser tuer, c'est tuer.

Dans le lieu, et non pas seulement, comme plusieurs traduisent en échange de ce que ; voir 2Rois 9.26. Mais il est à remarquer que ce fut en la personne d'Achazia, fils d'Achab, que s'accomplit ce trait spécial de la menace ; le sang d'Achab fut léché par les chiens à Samarie. Cette différence se lie à la modification de la sentence accordée à Achab ensuite de sa repentance.
