31 à 50 Après la demande générale d'exaucement, Salomon énumère une série de circonstances particulières où les fidèles viendront réclamer l'intervention de Dieu. Ces circonstances, au nombre de sept, se succèdent dans un ordre parfaitement naturel : d'abord les prières des Israélites dans le temple (31 à 40) ; puis celles des étrangers dans le même temple (41 à 43) ; enfin les prières adressées par les Israélites en pays étrangers, avec les regards tournés vers ce temple (44 à 50). Le nombre sept est choisi comme nombre sacré résumant la totalité des cas où le peuple aura recours à l'Eternel.

31 et 32 Premier cas : celui d'un serment juridique déféré à un prévenu dans des circonstances comme celles indiquées Exode 22.7-10 (cas d'adultère), Lévitique 6.2 (vol, dépôt). Il appartient à Dieu de maintenir la sainteté du serment en faisant reconnaître le parjure, si le prévenu a prêté un faux serment, ou en mettant au jour son innocence, s'il n'est pas coupable.

      Exode 22

      8 If the thief isn't found, then the master of the house shall come near to God, to find out if he hasn't put his hand to his neighbor's goods.
      9 For every matter of trespass, whether it be for ox, for donkey, for sheep, for clothing, or for any kind of lost thing, about which one says, 'This is mine,' the cause of both parties shall come before God. He whom God condemns shall pay double to his neighbor.
