1 Samuel 25.28

Je t’en prie, pardonne aussi ma faute. En effet, le SEIGNEUR donnera sûrement le pouvoir pour toujours à ta famille, parce que tu combats pour lui. Et pendant toute ta vie, on ne trouvera aucun mal en toi.

Rendra stable la maison... On voit par ces paroles et les suivantes jusqu'au verset 30 que le pressentiment de la haute destinée de David était déjà répandu dans le peuple, à la suite de ses exploits et peut-être aussi (verset 30) parce qu'il avait transpiré quelque chose des promesses que Samuel lui avait faites. Nous avons déjà vu que Jonathan était au clair à cet égard.
