I command you in the sight of God, and Christ Jesus, and the chosen angels, that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing by partiality.
διαμαρτύρομαι ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ καὶ τῶν ἐκλεκτῶν ἀγγέλων, ἵνα ταῦτα φυλάξῃς χωρὶς προκρίματος, μηδὲν ποιῶν κατὰ πρόσκλισιν.

Segond 21 Je t’en supplie devant Dieu, devant [le Seigneur] Jésus-Christ et devant les anges élus : suis ces instructions sans préjugé et ne fais rien par favoritisme.

Cette solennelle adjuration se rapport à l'ordre renfermé dans les deux derniers versets, et qui avait pour objet la discipline de l'Eglise. On voit quelle importance l'apôtre y attachait.

- Les "anges élus" sont les plus élevés des anges, les plus excellentes des créatures célestes, par lesquelles Paul adjure son disciple, pour donner plus de solennité encore à ses paroles. (Comparer 2Corinthiens 1.23 ; 11.10)
