Quand tous les anciens d’Israël sont arrivés, les lévites portent le coffre sacré.
All the elders of Israel came: and the Levites took up the ark;
Tous les responsables d’Israël vinrent et les lévites se chargèrent de porter le coffre sacré.

Les Lévites. 1Rois 8.3, dit : les sacrificateurs (comparez la note de ce passage) ; mais nous voyons au verset 7 (comparez 1Rois 8.6) que ce furent bien les sacrificateurs qui firent entrer l'arche dans le Lieu saint ; si donc les Lévites l'ont portée, ce ne fut que jusque devant le temple.

      14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of Yahweh, the God of Israel.
