2 Corinthiens 10.18

For it isn't he who commends himself who is approved, but whom the Lord commends.

    • Proverbes 21

2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but Yahweh weighs the hearts.

      Proverbes 27

2 Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.

      Matthieu 25

20 He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents besides them.'
21 "His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
22 "He also who got the two talents came and said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents besides them.'
23 "His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'

      Luc 16

15 He said to them, "You are those who justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts. For that which is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

      Luc 18

10 "Two men went up into the temple to pray; one was a Pharisee, and the other was a tax collector.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed to himself like this: 'God, I thank you, that I am not like the rest of men, extortioners, unrighteous, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 I fast twice a week. I give tithes of all that I get.'
13 But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn't even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!'
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted."

      Jean 5

42 But I know you, that you don't have God's love in yourselves.
43 I have come in my Father's name, and you don't receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.
44 How can you believe, who receive glory from one another, and you don't seek the glory that comes from the only God?

      Jean 12

43 for they loved men's praise more than God's praise.

      Actes 2

22 "Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him in the midst of you, even as you yourselves know,

      Romains 2

29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit not in the letter; whose praise is not from men, but from God.

      Romains 14

18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.

      Romains 16

      1 Corinthiens 4

5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each man will get his praise from God.

      1 Corinthiens 11

19 For there also must be factions among you, that those who are approved may be revealed among you.

      2 Corinthiens 3

1 Are we beginning again to commend ourselves? Or do we need, as do some, letters of commendation to you or from you?

      2 Corinthiens 5

12 For we are not commending ourselves to you again, but speak as giving you occasion of boasting on our behalf, that you may have something to answer those who boast in appearance, and not in heart.

      2 Corinthiens 6

4 but in everything commending ourselves, as servants of God, in great endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,

      2 Corinthiens 10

12 For we are not bold to number or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves. But they themselves, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves with themselves, are without understanding.
18 For it isn't he who commends himself who is approved, but whom the Lord commends.

      2 Corinthiens 13

7 Now I pray to God that you do no evil; not that we may appear approved, but that you may do that which is honorable, though we are as reprobate.

      2 Timothée 2

15 Give diligence to present yourself approved by God, a workman who doesn't need to be ashamed, properly handling the Word of Truth.

      1 Pierre 1

7 that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ--
