Ézéchias découvrit avec stupeur, le profond déshonneur que Dieu subit, par le blasphème de Rabshaké. Ceux qui tentent de nous parler « de la part de Dieu », devraient être l'objet de nos prières particulières auprès du Père, en leur faveur.

Christ, le grand Prophète, est aussi le grand Intercesseur ! Les personnes qui sont susceptibles de « régner » plus tard avec Dieu, sont celles dont le cœur se sera investi dans la prière.

Quand l'homme est retranché dans ses dernières extrémités, le Seigneur opère alors vraiment en lui. Les serviteurs de Dieu ne peuvent qu'annoncer aux impies le sort terrible qui les attend, en conséquence de leurs péchés ; mais les orgueilleux et les hypocrites, quant à eux, sont toujours prêts à lancer d'impertinentes paroles pour décourager le croyant !
