Dansait... Des danses accompagnaient souvent les cérémonies religieuses ou les marches triomphales (Exode 15.20 ; Juges 11.34 ; 1Samuel 18.6) ; seulement on ne voit nulle part que les hommes y prissent part, mais c'était ici un cas tout à fait, exceptionnel.

Ceint d'un éphod. David accomplissait en ce moment, une fonction religieuse et en quelque sorte sacerdotale (1Samuel 22.18).
