Les tentatives du « dragon » contre l’Église se sont avérées vaines et lui furent fatales. Cette guerre s’est tenue dans le ciel ; dans l'Église de Christ, le « royaume des cieux » se situe ici-bas.

Lors de ce combat, les parties en présence étaient : d’un côté, Christ, le grand Ange de l'alliance, avec Ses fidèles partisans, et de l’autre, Satan et ses serviteurs. Toute la force de l'Église réside en Jésus, le « Capitaine de son salut ».

L'idolâtrie païenne, consistant en l'adoration des démons, a été chassée par le déploiement du Christianisme. Le salut et la force de l'Église ne sont imputés qu’au « Roi des rois », qui en est la Tête. L'ennemi conquis (Satan), déteste la présence divine, cependant il est disposé à paraître dans les cieux, pour accuser les enfants de Dieu. Prenons garde à ne donner à Satan, aucun motif d’accusation, en ce qui nous concerne ; lorsque nous avons péché, allons devant le Seigneur et soumettre notre cause à Christ, notre Avocat.

Les serviteurs de Dieu ont vaincu Satan par le sang de l'Agneau. Grâce à leur témoignage et à la Puissance divine, la prédication de l'Évangile est suffisante, pour faire tomber les mauvaises influences. Par leur courage, leur patience et leurs souffrances, ces serviteurs ont consacré leur vie, à la cause de Christ. Ils ont été les « guerriers armés » par lesquels le Christianisme a renversé le pouvoir de l'idolâtrie païenne ; si les chrétiens actuels avaient continué à lutter avec ces armes, leurs victoires sur le mal auraient été plus nombreuses et plus glorieuses, avec des effets plus durables.

Les rachetés ont vaincu « l’ennemi » par une simple confiance dans le sang de Christ, le seul Fondement de leur espérance. Sachons les imiter, sans jamais céder à toute faiblesse envers cet ennemi !
