World English Bible They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, "Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God, the Almighty! Righteous and true are your ways, you King of the nations.

Le cantique de Moïse est, d'après plusieurs interprètes, celui que nous lisons à Exode 15, et le cantique de l'Agneau celui que Jean nous a donné à Apocalypse 5.8,9. Il est plus probable qu'il ne s'agit pas de ces deux cantiques, mais d'un seul, de celui dont les paroles suivent immédiatement. (versets 3,4)

L'auteur l'appelle le cantique de Moïse et le cantique de l'Agneau, c'est-à-dire : le cantique de Moïse, qui est aussi le cantique de l'Agneau, pour marquer l'unité indissoluble des deux alliances, par lesquelles s'est accomplie la rédemption. Il veut dire que ce cantique célèbre l'œuvre du salut tout entière, telle que Dieu l'a préparée par Moïse et accomplie par Christ.

Ou, si cette interprétation paraît trop subtile, on peut supposer qu'il veut dire simplement : ce cantique célèbre la délivrance accomplie par l'Agneau dans des termes semblables à ceux du cantique de Moïse.
