Proverbes 3.12 ; Hébreux 12.6 ; 1Corinthiens 11.32 L'homme ne peut comprendre, au premier abord, que la répréhension vient de l'amour. Mais, plus tard, il en bénit Dieu.

Si le Seigneur reprend et châtie cette Eglise tiède dans des intentions miséricordieuses, il en résulte (donc) que l'Église doit avoir du zèle et se repentir.

Ce qui manque aux Laodicéens, c'est de s'être approprié l'Evangile de la grâce d'une manière vivante, profonde, complète ; ils n'y parviendront que par une repentance sérieuse.
