Archippe (comparez Philémon 1.2) avait un ministère, un service quelconque dans l'Eglise ; peut-être la manière dont il le remplissait rendait-elle nécessaire cet avertissement à lui transmis par l'Eglise entière ; peut-être aussi, nouvellement installé dans ses fonctions, devait-il recevoir cet encouragement à la fidélité, sans qu'il y eût de blâme dans l'intention de l'apôtre.

Quoi qu'il en soit, ces mots prouvent que Paul savait mettre dans ses rapports personnels avec ses frères ce sel qu'il recommande. (verset 6)
