Ne rendez de culte qu’au Seigneur votre Dieu, ayez du respect pour lui, prenez au sérieux ses commandements, obéissez-lui, servez-le et demeurez attachés à lui seul.

Segond 21 C’est l’Eternel, votre Dieu, que vous suivrez et c’est lui que vous craindrez. Ce sont ses commandements que vous respecterez, c’est à lui que vous obéirez, c’est lui que vous servirez et c’est à lui que vous vous attacherez. Mourra. Pousser à l'idolâtrie c'est en Israël, où Dieu est en même temps le, souverain, le crime de haute trahison

Et tu ôteras le mal. On pourrait traduire : le méchant, ainsi que le fait saint Paul, 1Corinthiens 5.13. Mais comme cette traduction ne pourrait être conservée dans tous les cas où se trouve cette expression (22.21,24), le terme plus général de mal doit être préféré. Dans l'Eglise cette parole ne doit se réaliser que par des moyens spirituels.
