Deutéronome 13.5

Vous vous rallierez à l’Éternel, votre Dieu, et vous le craindrez, vous observerez ses commandements, vous obéirez à sa voix, c’est à lui que vous rendrez un culte, et vous vous attacherez à lui.
Mais on fera mourir ce prophète-là ou ce songeur de songes ; parce qu'il a parlé de révolte contre l'Eternel votre Dieu, qui vous a tirés hors du pays d'Egypte, et vous a rachetés de la maison de servitude, pour vous faire sortir de la voie que l'Eternel votre Dieu vous a prescrite, afin que vous y marchiez ; ainsi tu extermineras le méchant du milieu de toi.

Segond 1910 Ce prophète ou ce songeur sera puni de mort, car il a parlé de révolte contre l'Éternel, votre Dieu, qui vous a fait sortir du pays d'Égypte et vous a délivrés de la maison de servitude, et il a voulu te détourner de la voie dans laquelle l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'a ordonné de marcher. Tu ôteras ainsi le mal du milieu de toi.

World English Bible That prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death, because he has spoken rebellion against Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to draw you aside out of the way which Yahweh your God commanded you to walk in. So you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.

Mourra. Pousser à l'idolâtrie c'est en Israël, où Dieu est en même temps le, souverain, le crime de haute trahison

Et tu ôteras le mal. On pourrait traduire : le méchant, ainsi que le fait saint Paul, 1Corinthiens 5.13. Mais comme cette traduction ne pourrait être conservée dans tous les cas où se trouve cette expression (22.21,24), le terme plus général de mal doit être préféré. Dans l'Eglise cette parole ne doit se réaliser que par des moyens spirituels.
