Le prophète entrevoit le moment où Dieu châtiera ces puissances et où leur domination tombera tout à fait. Car tous les peuples doivent finalement devenir la propriété de Jéhova (19.25). C'est donc la chute du paganisme qui est ici prophétisée. Aux puissances célestes le prophète associe dans le jugement les rois de la terre. En effet, la puissance des rois est constamment identifiée par le paganisme avec celle des dieux et des astres, et c'est à eux que les princes assyriens, dans les inscriptions, rapportent toujours leur autorité et leurs victoires. Leur pouvoir est le fondement de celui des rois qui les adorent. Voilà pourquoi les uns et les autres sont ici réunis dans la défaite : la chute des uns entraîne celle des autres.Ce passage est l'un des rares endroits de l'Ancien Testament qui nous fasse entrevoir les relations qui existent entre les choses de la terre et celles du monde invisible. C'est donc la chute du paganisme qui est ici prophétisée. Aux puissances célestes le prophète associe dans le jugement les rois de la terre. En effet, la puissance des rois est constamment identifiée par le paganisme avec celle des dieux et des astres, et c'est à eux que les princes assyriens, dans les inscriptions, rapportent toujours leur autorité et leurs victoires. Leur pouvoir est le fondement de celui des rois qui les adorent. Voilà pourquoi les uns et les autres sont ici réunis dans la défaite : la chute des uns entraîne celle des autres.Ce passage est l'un des rares endroits de l'Ancien Testament qui nous fasse entrevoir les relations qui existent entre les choses de la terre et celles du monde invisible. Le prophète entrevoit le moment où Dieu châtiera ces puissances et où leur domination tombera tout à fait. Car tous les peuples doivent finalement devenir la propriété de Jéhova (19.25). C'est donc la chute du paganisme qui est ici prophétisée. Aux puissances célestes le prophète associe dans le jugement les rois de la terre. En effet, la puissance des rois est constamment identifiée par le paganisme avec celle des dieux et des astres, et c'est à eux que les princes assyriens, dans les inscriptions, rapportent toujours leur autorité et leurs victoires. Leur pouvoir est le fondement de celui des rois qui les adorent. Voilà pourquoi les uns et les autres sont ici réunis dans la défaite : la chute des uns entraîne celle des autres.Ce passage est l'un des rares endroits de l'Ancien Testament qui nous fasse entrevoir les relations qui existent entre les choses de la terre et celles du monde invisible. La prévision d'un jugement sur les créatures supérieures desquelles procède l'idolâtrie se lie nécessairement à l'idée, si fréquemment exprimée par Esaïe, de l'universalité future du culte de Jéhova. En effet, la puissance des rois est constamment identifiée par le paganisme avec celle des dieux et des astres, et c'est à eux que les princes assyriens, dans les inscriptions, rapportent toujours leur autorité et leurs victoires. Leur pouvoir est le fondement de celui des rois qui les adorent. Voilà pourquoi les uns et les autres sont ici réunis dans la défaite : la chute des uns entraîne celle des autres.Ce passage est l'un des rares endroits de l'Ancien Testament qui nous fasse entrevoir les relations qui existent entre les choses de la terre et celles du monde invisible. En effet, la puissance des rois est constamment identifiée par le paganisme avec celle des dieux et des astres, et c'est à eux que les princes assyriens, dans les inscriptions, rapportent toujours leur autorité et leurs victoires. Leur pouvoir est le fondement de celui des rois qui les adorent. C'est donc la chute du paganisme qui est ici prophétisée. Aux puissances célestes le prophète associe dans le jugement les rois de la terre. En effet, la puissance des rois est constamment identifiée par le paganisme avec celle des dieux et des astres, et c'est à eux que les princes assyriens, dans les inscriptions, rapportent toujours leur autorité et leurs victoires. Leur pouvoir est le fondement de celui des rois qui les adorent. Voilà pourquoi les uns et les autres sont ici réunis dans la défaite : la chute des uns entraîne celle des autres.Ce passage est l'un des rares endroits de l'Ancien Testament qui nous fasse entrevoir les relations qui existent entre les choses de la terre et celles du monde invisible. Then Jerusalem will be holy, and no strangers will pass through her any more. 19 Egypt will be a desolation, and Edom will be a desolate wilderness, for the violence done to the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land. This will be the plague with which Yahweh will strike the nations that don't go up to keep the feast of tents. 19 This will be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations that don't go up to keep the feast of tents. C'est donc la chute du paganisme qui est ici prophétisée. Aux puissances célestes le prophète associe dans le jugement les rois de la terre. En effet, la puissance des rois est constamment identifiée par le paganisme avec celle des dieux et des astres, et c'est à eux que les princes assyriens, dans les inscriptions, rapportent toujours leur autorité et leurs victoires. Leur pouvoir est le fondement de celui des rois qui les adorent. Voilà pourquoi les uns et les autres sont ici réunis dans la défaite : la chute des uns entraîne celle des autres.Ce passage est l'un des rares endroits de l'Ancien Testament qui nous fasse entrevoir les relations qui existent entre les choses de la terre et celles du monde invisible. Le prophète entrevoit le moment où Dieu châtiera ces puissances et où leur domination tombera tout à fait. Car tous les peuples doivent finalement devenir la propriété de Jéhova (19.25). C'est donc la chute du paganisme qui est ici prophétisée. Aux puissances célestes le prophète associe dans le jugement les rois de la terre. En effet, la puissance des rois est constamment identifiée par le paganisme avec celle des dieux et des astres, et c'est à eux que les princes assyriens, dans les inscriptions, rapportent toujours leur autorité et leurs victoires. Leur pouvoir est le fondement de celui des rois qui les adorent. Voilà pourquoi les uns et les autres sont ici réunis dans la défaite : la chute des uns entraîne celle des autres.Ce passage est l'un des rares endroits de l'Ancien Testament qui nous fasse entrevoir les relations qui existent entre les choses de la terre et celles du monde invisible. La prévision d'un jugement sur les créatures supérieures desquelles procède l'idolâtrie se lie nécessairement à l'idée, si fréquemment exprimée par Esaïe, de l'universalité future du culte de Jéhova.
