Let favor be shown to the wicked, yet he will not learn righteousness. In the land of uprightness he will deal wrongfully, and will not see Yahweh's majesty.

S'ils ont soupiré après le jugement, ce n'est pas par esprit de vengeance, mais parce que l'expérience leur a prouvé que le méchant ne fait que mépriser la grâce et que s'endurcir en y voyant un signe de faiblesse (Romains 2.4). Le châtiment est donc nécessaire.
