World English Bible I will encamp against you all around you, and will lay siege against you with posted troops. I will raise siege works against you.

Jérusalem fut cernée, coupée de toutes ses communications avec le reste du pays, et mise en grand péril par les Assyriens ; mais l'assaut ne fut pas donné. La situation ici annoncée est celle qui est décrite 1.6-8. Voir dans les notes des chapitres 36 et 37 les détails de l'accomplissement tels qu'ils résultent des récits des Assyriens eux-mêmes.
