Comparez Psaumes 86.8 De telles expressions ne supposent pas que ces dieux des païens soient aux yeux de l'auteur de réelles divinités ; comparez Psaumes 115.4-8 Elles signifient : Lequel de ces dieux qu'adorent les païens pourrait faire pour ses adorateurs ce que tu fais pour les tiens ?

Redoutable à louer. C'est la traduction littérale ; l'expression est difficile par sa concision. Le sens paraît être celui-ci : Dieu est si grand qu'on ne peut même le louer qu'en tremblant devant lui. Comparez Psaumes 65.2
