Le sentiment prolongé de l'humiliation a fait place chez Sara à une sorte de fierté. Le style poétique de ce verset a fait supposer que nous avons ici un fragment d'un hymne analogue aux cantiques d'Anne (1Samuel 2.1-10) et de Marie (Luc 1.47-55).
