Jérémie 26.8

Il finissait de dire à tout le peuple tout ce que l'Eternel lui avait ordonné de dire lorsque les prêtres, les prophètes et tout le peuple s’emparèrent de lui en disant : « Tu vas mourir !

World English Bible It happened, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that Yahweh had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people laid hold on him, saying, You shall surely die.

Et quand Jérémie eut achevé. Ils ne l'interrompent pas pendant son discours, pour avoir contre lui des charges d'accusation plus complètes ; c'est un procès en bonne forme qu'ils ont en vue.

Tout le peuple : tous les assistants ; à distinguer de tout le peuple, verset 9 ; dans ce dernier verset cette expression, à peu près équivalente à notre on, comprend toute la population de la ville, qui accourt au bruit et qui ne tarde pas à se montrer favorable au prophète.

      65 Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying, "He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy.
      66 What do you think?" They answered, "He is worthy of death!"
