Jokhanan implore Jérémie, pour qu’il demande conseil à Dieu. (Jérémie 42:1-6)
Les enfants d’Israël sont assurés d’être en sûreté, s’ils restent dans le pays de Juda. Ils seront anéantis, s’ils se rendent en Égypte. (Jérémie 42:7-22)

Afin de trouver une issue favorable à leur situation, les dirigeants du peuple d’Israël allèrent consulter Jérémie, et lui demandèrent son assistance.

À chaque fois que nous sommes confrontés à un cas difficile et douteux, nous devons porter nos regards vers Dieu, pour Lui demander quelle direction emprunter ; de plus, nous devons, prier avec foi, afin d’être animés d’un esprit de sagesse, étant guidés par la Providence.

Nous ne pouvons pas vraiment affirmer marcher avec Dieu, si nous ne décidons pas résolument de nous conformer à Ses Directives.

Beaucoup de personnes assurent qu’elles obéissent au Seigneur, alors qu’en fait, elles ne font qu’assouvir leur propres désirs et leurs convoitises ; cependant, bien des détails trahissent souvent l'état réel de leur cœur...
