Quand vous sacrifierez un sacrifice de prospérités à l'Éternel, vous le sacrifierez de manière à être agréés.

De manière à être agréés : sans commettre aucune des irrégularités qui pourraient en faire une offense à Dieu. De telles irrégularités pouvaient facilement se produire à l'occasion du repas de famille qui terminait ces sacrifices.

La viande ne pouvait être mangée que le jour du sacrifice ou le suivant dans les cas de vœu ou d'hommage. Dès ce moment le reste devait être brûlé (7.15-18).

Ces préceptes se rapportaient surtout aux devoirs envers Dieu (première table). Les suivants, versets 9 à 18, se rapportent plutôt aux relations avec le prochain (deuxième table).
