Ignorer les Ecritures et la puissance de Dieu, telle est la double source habituelle de l'erreur et de l'incrédulité.

Or Jésus prouve ici (verset 25) la puissance de Dieu par le fait que sa parole créatrice saura rendre aux morts un corps glorifié, digne de leur existence nouvelle ; puis il démontre la vérité profonde des Ecritures par la citation qu'il en fait et la conclusion qu'il en tire. (versets 25,27 ; comparez Matthieu 22.30-32, notes.)
