World English Bible Of the first of your dough you shall offer up a cake for a wave offering: as the wave offering of the threshing floor, so you shall heave it.

Vos moutures. Ce mot, que les LXX traduisent par pâte, désigne probablement la grosse farine, le grain concassé, la semoule dont on faisait des gâteaux. Peut-être s'agissait-il de farine d'orge, parce que l'orge mûrit la première (Lévitique 23.10, note).

Gâteau (challa) : voir Lévitique 2.4, note. Saint Paul fait allusion à cette loi dans Romains 11.16. Encore maintenant les Juifs l'observent strictement. La mère de famille tient à pétrir elle-même la pâte de la première fournée de l'année et prononce sur le premier gâteau qu'elle retire du four cette bénédiction : Béni sois tu, ô Seigneur, roi de l'univers, de ce que tu nous as sanctifiés par tes commandements et de ce que tu nous as ordonné de séparer le challa !

Qu'on prélève de l'aire. Ces mots font supposer que le peuple avait déjà l'habitude d'offrir les prémices de ses moissons en nature (Lévitique 23.12-13).

Ezéchiel 44.30 indique le but de cette prescription : bénédiction sur chaque maison.
