World English Bible When a man vows a vow to Yahweh, or swears an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.

2 à 17 Loi sur la validité des vœux.

Aux chefs des tribus. Comme il s'agit d'une question de droit civil, Moïse s'adresse aux représentants du pouvoir civil et il pose la règle d'après laquelle ils auront à juger les cas qui leur seront soumis. L'accomplissement des vœux consistant surtout en offrandes et en sacrifices, cette ordonnance se rattache naturellement aux deux chapitres précédents. Elle sert à compléter celle de Lévitique 27.1-34 et celle de Nombres 6.1-27 sur le naziréat, qui est un vœu.
