Proverbes 12.19

La lèvre véridique est affermie pour toujours, Mais la langue fausse ne subsiste qu'un instant.
La parole véritable est ferme à perpétuité ; mais la fausse langue n'est que pour un moment.

Un instant, littéralement : jusqu'à la durée d'un clin d'œil. La langue fausse est bien vite convaincue de mensonge et honteusement réduite au silence. Il y a de l'ironie ici : La langue fausse peut, dans les circonstances les plus favorables, aller jusqu'à subsister un instant.
