Comparez 12.9, pour le fond, et 12.18, pour la forme. L'auteur se borne à énoncer des faits observés fréquemment, sans en déduire aucune conclusion morale. Celle qui résulte tout naturellement de ces faits, c'est qu'il y a chez l'homme une grande inclination à se déguiser, Le sage ne doit pas craindre de paraître ce qu'il est.
