Proverbes 15.27

L’homme avide d’argent attire la ruine sur sa famille. Celui qui ne se laisse pas acheter jouira d’une longue vie.
Celui qui est avide de gain illicite trouble sa maison, Mais celui qui a de la haine pour les présents vivra.
Celui qui est assoiffé de profit trouble sa maison, mais celui qui déteste les pots-de-vin vivra.

Qui hait les présents : qui ne se laisse pas gagner comme juge (28.16). Ce verset condamne deux sortes de gains : ceux qu'on obtient par un travail excessif et ceux qu'on obtient trop facilement par un mot tû ou prononcé.
