L'esprit que Dieu a insufflé à l'homme en le créant émane de Lui-même (Genèse 2.7 ; Job 32.8), et il est comparé à une lumière divine, à la clarté de laquelle l'homme peut descendre en soi-même et prendre conscience de soi (1Corinthiens 2.11).
