Avec la mise d'une courtisane : détail qui montre le degré d'avilissement auquel elle était descendue. Cette femme, telle qu'elle est dépeinte ici, ne devait pas être inconnue de l'observateur, qui trace d'elle un portrait dont tous les traits ne pouvaient être perçus par ses yeux à cette heure de la nuit.

Et au cœur astucieux, littéralement. : gardée de cœur, maîtresse de son cœur, n'ayant point de passion vraie et ne nourrissant que des sentiments hypocrites, soit pour son mari, soit pour ses amants.
