חִצֶּ֗יךָ שְׁנ֫וּנִ֥ים עַ֭מִּים תַּחְתֶּ֣יךָ יִפְּל֑וּ בְּ֝לֵ֗ב אוֹיְבֵ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

World English Bible Your throne, God, is forever and ever. A scepter of equity is the scepter of your kingdom.

Le trône de ce Roi tout puissant est établi à jamais. Tandis que le Saint-Esprit conduit ceux qui sont en Christ à regarder à la croix, il les enseigne aussi à découvrir le mal dans le péché, et la beauté dans la sainteté ; aucun chrétien ne peut ressentir de l'encouragement à persévérer dans le péché.

Le véritable Médiateur, est un grand Dieu, sinon Il aurait été incapable d'accomplir Son œuvre, ni pu supporter une telle couronne. Dieu le Père est à la fois le Dieu incarné et le Dieu médiateur ; Il a oint Christ du Saint-Esprit et ce, sans limite.

Ayant été fait à la fois Prophète, Prêtre et Roi, Christ peut ainsi offrir les prémices et la grâce de l'Esprit ; Il a partagé une réelle plénitude, en tant qu'homme, avec ses frères ici-bas.

L'Esprit est appelé « l'huile de la joie », en rapport avec les délices divins dont Christ était l'objet par son œuvre rédemptrice. Le rachat des pécheurs apporte la joie aux anges et encore plus au Fils. Et, à la mesure de la communion que nous avons avec le Saint-Esprit, nous pouvons espérer en retour tout le réconfort spirituel.

L'excellence du Messie, la perfection de Ses œuvres et Sa grâce toute suffisante, semblent révéler le parfum merveilleux qui émane de sa personne. L'église, celle composée des véritables croyants, est ici comparée à la reine, qui selon une promesse éternelle, est promise au Seigneur Jésus. Elle est l'épouse, la femme de l'Agneau, dont la grâce et la pureté sont comparées à un vêtement de fin lin et à de l'or précieux. Alors que nous sommes redevables de notre salut, nous sommes aussi redevables de notre adoration, à cause du précieux sang du Fils de Dieu.
