4 et 5 L'Eternel s'est révélé comme Dieu saint par la loi qu'il a donnée à son peuple.

[Ils loueront] la force du Roi. Avec plusieurs traducteurs, nous avons suppléé à l'absence du verbe, en tête de cette phrase, en reproduisant le verbe de la phrase précédente. D'autres rattachent les mots : la force du Roi, à ce qui suit et traduisent : Toi qui aimes la justice, tu as fondé la force du roi sur le droit... Entre autres inconvénients, cette traduction a celui de mentionner ici un roi distinct, de l'Eternel lui-même, ce qui est contraire à l'idée générale du psaume.

C'est toi qui as fondé le droit... et la justice. L'Eternel l'a fait par les institutions qu'il a données à Israël et par lesquelles lui-même est devenu son roi.
