World English Bible Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion; for, behold, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of you,' says Yahweh.

En même temps que le châtiment atteindra les ennemis d'Israël, Israël lui-même ressentira les effets de la bénédiction divine, et grandira. C'est là la promesse développée dans les versets 10 à 13.

Pousse des cris de joie : non seulement à cause de la chute de tes ennemis, mais dans l'attente des grâces qui vont t'être accordées.

Je vais venir et habiter... La présence de Jéhova est la plus grande des bénédictions qu'il puisse accorder aux siens, car elle renferme toutes les autres ; mais il est à remarquer que c'est l'ange de l'Eternel qui parle ; c'est donc en sa personne que Jéhova demeurera au milieu de son peuple. Cet envoyé de Jéhova (verset 8) est donc Jéhova lui-même, dans sa manifestation au monde, et nous comprenons ainsi que la promesse de sa présence au milieu de Jérusalem restaurée, verset 10, se réalisera quand il apparaîtra enfin comme Messie en Israël (comparez Jean 1.4).

Ce texte est une prophétie annonçant la venue de Christ, en tant qu'homme, ici-bas. Cette prophétie est également un avant-goût du royaume messianique à venir.

De nombreuses nations « en ce jour futur » renonceront à l'idolâtrie et Dieu reconnaîtra parmi Son peuple ceux qui le suivront de tout leur cœur. Des temps glorieux sont annoncés, lors de la venue du Seigneur et de l’avènement de Son royaume. Dieu est sur le point d’accomplir l'inattendu et de plaider la cause de Son peuple, qui fut si longtemps méprisé.

Soumettez-vous en silence à Sa Sainte volonté et attendez patiemment Son retour : assurément, Il accomplira Sa promesse ! Il viendra bientôt rendre justice, assurer le Salut de Son peuple et punir les habitants de la terre, pour leurs péchés.
